In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down my talk I doubt I can catch the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing helper".

These messages were released on this week together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's name is withheld. The BBC managed to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the timeline, events, and locations mentioned.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of Trump's key aides in the lead-up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the five-part series, next year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the most highly paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you are well looked after."

British Affairs Discussed in Exchanges

The released communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this morning with Farage, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "The guys are attempting to move on. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so others get the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the people here have no balls" and added "Boris ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - someone has to take charge".

Theresa May was finally toppled in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Nigel Farage has never been in a meeting with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records related to its probe into Epstein, who passed away in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed this week after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
