In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys

In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited Andy's toys when he left for college — receiving a brand new plaything, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.

Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

An element the trailer doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and assisting prize toys locate loving owners.

Surely, Pixar will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with him. And where is the stuntman toy (the star)?

Continuity from the Previous Film

At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before departing for his new life was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (Joan Cusack), entrusting her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her shirt.

It is hoped she is remains the key figure among the group.
