🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Express Frustration Regarding Sizing Changes Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Reaction Countless users and merchants are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches other platforms. They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Updates Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
